Game Review
Well, most of the time, the team of the week is the team that has scored the most points, but this week, its different. Seeing how as the playoffs are 2 games away, this was only appropriate to make the Metal Militia the team of the week. Going into the week with a 2 game losing streak, and dropping from 3rd place to 6th, the Metal Militia was in desperate need of a win. He had to play a rather hot Ford Rangers team, who had just lost a tough one to the CB West Bucks and was looking for a strong bounce back this week. Now, the Ford Rangers had 3 solid players in the week, but everyone else did horribly. The Metal Militia pulled away with the win with only 1 solid player, and an average game out of the rest.
A big game out of Anquan Bolden against the 49ers was the backbone of the team for the week. Antonio Gates put up his average 11 points and the Buffalo defense managed 10 against the Phins. Nobody else scored over 10, but they all were close. Chris Brown (4.10) and Keenan McCardell (5.60), normally solid players, are the only players who scored under 8. Going into the Monday night game, the Metal Militia was down by 3 points, with Matt Hasselbeck left to play. Despite winning the game 42-0, it was all defense and Shaun Alexander, leaving Hasslbeck to put up only 9.92 points, a lot closer, I'm sure, than the Metal Militia would have liked it to be.
Nonetheless, the Metal Militia broke his two game losing streak, and moved up two spots in the standings and is now in playoff contention in 4th place. With two games left, the Montague 69ers and team Hankins are still on the horizon. The 69ers game will be tough, but if he can manage a win, he'll face a depleted Hankins team which should be an easy victory, and ultimately buy his trip into the playoffs. Good luck.
